Ready, Aim, Fire with the E-P3

08 Dec

ISO 200, 21 mm, f/11, 1/640 sec.

While carrying the trash out this morning, I heard geese coming.  I ran back into the house and grabbed my E-P3 with the 14 – 42 mm lens already on it, ran back outside, and saw the geese coming.  I barely had time to turn the camera on, unlock the lens, lift it up to compose, and then take the above picture.  The camera was in “P” mode and the only problem was that the review time was set to 2 sec.  As far as focusing and getting the shot, the camera is darn fast.  If the review time had been set to zero, I could have been able to frame the next shot faster.  I have since remedied that problem by setting the on-screen review time to zero.  Now if the geese come back tomorrow and the light is good, I should be even more successful.

In conclusion, the E-P3 is darn fast for getting quick motion shots … even better than our trusty shotguns back in the days when we hunted with guns instead of cameras.  As each day goes by, I’m even happier with my decision to get the Olympus E-P3.
